Dr Giuseppe Pileio’s research focuses on NMR and MRI methodology developments, including long-lived nuclear spin states, nuclear spin relaxation, design and manufacturing of micro coils for NMR sensing, microfluidics NMR, 3D diffusion NMR in porous media, spin and translational dynamics simulations.
He can advise and collaborate with industry clients who are seeking magnetic resonance spectroscopy and imaging solutions for advanced or complex projects.
After completing his PhD in Italy, on NMR in liquid-crystalline phases, Giuseppe joined the University of Southampton as a postdoctoral researcher, contributing both experimentally and theoretically to the development of the long-lived states idea.
Giuseppe’s most recent research interests are focused on microfluidics NMR and NMR detection with higher sensitivity. He is currently an Associate Professor in Physical Chemistry and Magnetic Resonance, and the Director of the University’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Magnetic Resonance.
