Closing the carbon loop in manufacturing

Spinout ViridiCO2 is successfully commercialising sustainable manufacturing technology developed at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

ViridiCO2’s unique technology helps companies capture and convert waste CO2 into chemical products for use in everyday products, such as surfactants for shampoo and dishwashing liquid.

This in turn improves manufacturers’ efficiency and reduces their carbon footprint, supporting global efforts to decarbonise the chemical and consumer product industry.

The company recently closed a new investment round to support the delivery of multiple customer contracts and accelerate its commercial rollout.

This innovative technology was developed by Dr Daniel Stewart during his PhD with Professor Robert Raja at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering; together they co-founded ViridiCO2 in 2021.
